The Sage City Six & Ukulele String Ensemble

The Bennington Lions Club and Laumeister Art Center present an evening of music. The Sage City Six is a traditional Dixieland jazz band playing “New Orleans Style” jazz. The band was formed in North Bennington, Vermont (at one time known as Sage City) in 1955, by Bob and Helen Woodworth, and has been playing dixieland music ever since. The band was managed for many years by Dr. Ron Woodworth (son of Bob and Helen) and is currently managed by Bill Cottrell.

The opening act for the evening will be The Ukulele String Ensemble. Players range in age from 26 to 80+. The Ensemble plays a variety of music including popular American and Irish sing-a-long songs, folk tunes, rhythm and blues, and oldie R&R favorites.

Tickets are $15, two for $25, children & students $5. Available at the Laumeister Art Center Box Office, Knapp’s Music Store, The Bennington Downtown Alliance Visitor’s Center, and from members of the Bennington Lion’s Club. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Bennington Lions Sight and Hearing Fund.
